This tent has proven to be a reliable “performance tent” for my students during three outdoor concerts held in my backyard. Its professional appearance adds a touch of elegance to our setup. Despite initial concerns based on reviews mentioning issues like plastic ripping and metal poles bending easily, we’ve been pleasantly surprised by its durability. Taking extra precautions, such as pre-assembling pole groups for quicker setup and carefully packing away the tent’s plastic sides, has contributed to our positive experience. During setup, we’ve found that having several pole groups pre-assembled streamlines the process, and even with a smaller crew of three people, assembly remains manageable. Despite encountering windy conditions with gusts reaching 10-12mph during our most recent event, the tent held its ground remarkably well, thanks in part to the eight sandbags we used for additional stability. While we initially overlooked using tent spikes, we recognize their importance for future setups and plan to incorporate them moving forward. Overall, this tent has exceeded our expectations and proved to be a worthwhile investment, especially given the limitations imposed by pandemic protocols.

The large box containing my carport was delayed by the shipper, causing a slight inconvenience. The company did an excellent job with the packing and labeling of all the components, making assembly a breeze. I particularly appreciated that each part was clearly labeled, which simplified the setup process. The instructions provided were straightforward and easy to follow, further streamlining the assembly. While putting the tent together was a straightforward task, I did notice that it felt a bit flimsy once fully assembled. This is something to keep in mind, especially when setting it up outdoors. Even with the tent stakes secured into the ground, additional weight at the base of each pole may be necessary to prevent it from shifting. However, once properly anchored and in place, the tent performs its intended function well, provided the weather conditions remain calm and there are no accidental collisions with the upright poles. On the bright side, disassembling the tent was a quick and simple process, allowing for easy storage back into the shipping box. This convenience ensures that we’ll be able to use it again in the future with minimal hassle. Overall, while there are some considerations to keep in mind regarding stability, the tent serves its purpose effectively and offers a convenient solution for outdoor events.

Assembling this portable garage was a breeze, although it did require two people to anchor it securely to the ground and install the tarp. The quality of construction is commendable, and overall, it’s a well-made product. Unfortunately, during a particularly severe wind and rainstorm, the garage sustained damage when a branch pierced through the top, bending two of the major poles and tearing the cover. While this was certainly an unexpected setback, I was impressed by the outstanding customer service provided by Jenna and the PeakTop team. After ordering a new garage to replace the damaged components, I decided to reach out to customer service to inquire about replacing the broken poles. Jenna promptly responded to my inquiries and went above and beyond to assist me, sending out two replacement tubes free of charge. Dealing with PeakTop and Jenna was an absolute pleasure, and their impeccable service exceeded my expectations. I’ve purchased several canopy tents in this style before, but I’m thrilled to say that this brand finally got it right. The frame is constructed with thicker metal tubing and spring clips, which keep the connections securely in place. Unlike other tents I’ve tried, which tend to fall apart at the slightest gust of wind unless reinforced with metal screws, this one is built to last. It also features reinforced bars at the peaks and corners, providing added stability. Another standout feature is the metal feet, which are bolted to the legs for extra durability. In contrast, many other tents have plastic feet that are prone to breaking. Additionally, the canopy stretches tight and hooks to the bottom of each leg, distributing weight more evenly along the sides and making it more resistant to wind. I particularly appreciate that the canopy is attached with bungee cords around the top of each peak and along the side rails, preventing it from shifting over time. Despite being $100-$150 cheaper than my previous purchases, this tent is far better made and offers superior performance. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase and plan to replace our other canopy tents with this brand come Spring. To further secure it on gravel, we invested in heavy-duty tent stakes that screw into the rock with an impact driver.

Begin by assembling the roof sections and the top on the ground, then elevate the sides starting from one end and working your way around. The initial assembly should take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, with additional time needed for tie-downs and other finishing touches. While the included rope and tie-downs are sufficient for many locations, I opted to purchase extra rope from my local tool warehouse for added security. I chose camouflage rope to blend in with the surroundings and used metal stakes typically used for dogs at each corner. Drawing from my past experience with a different manufacturer, I may have gone overboard with securing the shelter. Initially, there were some wrinkles and tightness in the top, but these smoothed out after a couple of days. To further reinforce the structure, we added zip ties to the grommet bungies for added peace of mind. Overall, I am impressed with the design and functionality of this system once completed. While the instructions consist mainly of pictures and could be clearer, the shelter is well-built and visually appealing. My only qualm is with some vulnerable areas due to the ‘cold galvanization process’, but the added bracing on both ends and sides addresses this concern. The tall design of the unit allows for ample space to accommodate large vehicles.
